These English Muffin Mini Pepperoni Pizzas is a great project for the kiddos. It takes just a few basic ingredients, but the little ones love making them. They feel like they cooked their own pizza! And it's so much fun seeing them enjoy spending time together in the kitchen to create something that they will adore eating afterward.
Kids are growing up way too fast, but we still do these kinds of activities fairly often in our family. Prepping meals as a team the kids treasure moments like that very much. The littlest ones especially like to be involved and these little pizzas are one of their favorites to make and eat.
Previously, I've used organic flatbread (that I purchase from Costco) mini pizzas, but they are a bit too big in size for the kids to handle and finish eating. So, the English muffins make the perfect and fun food to use for this. As well as offering the perfect serving size.
Also, using homemade pizza sauce makes these mini pizzas taste more homemade and so good. We usually serve these pizzas with any kind of soup or veggies on the side with ranch.
This activity is great to keep kids occupied after school, and they get used to helping out with dinner while mom is making instant pot soup to go along with the pizza. Or if mom wants to enjoy more of the weekend. Enjoy!
Mini Pepperoni Pizzas Ingredients
- Organic English muffins
- Homemade pizza sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Mini pepperoni slices
- Garlic powder
- Fresh parsley
Mini Pepperoni Pizzas Instructions
First things first, separate each English muffin in halves. Smear about a tablespoon of pizza sauce over each muffin half. (We love using our homemade pizza sauce recipe! It's tasty and easy to make with clean ingredients.)
Next, shred the mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle it over the sauce of all muffins. And last but not least, top them with the desired number of mini pepperonis (usually about 5 pieces per pizza).
Finally, sprinkle a little garlic powder (totally optional, but adds more flavor) and fresh parsley.
Mini Pepperoni Pizzas Baking Instructions
Bake the mini pizzas at 350 F (180 C) for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the edges are light golden brown.
Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes or so before serving.
Warning: Cooling these little gems properly for safe consumption for the kids is necessary. Even though the cheese and the muffin may feel warm to touch the sauce inside may still be very hot. Check before little ones take a bite.
Enjoy them with soup, Caesar salad, or simply a platter of vegetables and ranch!
Note: If you have all the ingredients handy head of time, then this dinner comes together in 30 minutes or less! Enjoy it with your kiddos, my friends!
