I had this salad for the first time when we visited our friends. I liked it immediately. Salads made with cabbage tend to be my favorite. Crunchy cabbage, cucumbers, chives and all the rest of the ingredients mixed with this brand of mayo, turns out a perfectly tasty salad. It can be served with any dish like mashes potatoes, pasta or buckwheat. This Tossed Cucumber Salad Recipe is so easy to make and has great flavor. Just chop it, shred it, toss it and enjoy!
PS. Don’t forget to add Homemade French Bread and Kompot drink to go with it! 🙂
Ingredients you will need:
1 small – cabbage head
4 mini – cucumbers
10 oz. – bologna (of any kind)
10 – green onions
1 can (14.75 oz.) – Santiam corn
¾ cup – Kraft Mayonnaise
Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Wash vegetables. Shred small cabbage head. Slice cucumbers and green onions. Dice bologna. Drain and rinse corn (I only like this brand, it taste more like home cooked). Place all ingredients into a large salad bowl.
2. Mix all the ingredients together (try to toss it with a spoon, not pressing hard so the cabbage wont juice out).
3. Add mayonnaise. Carefully mix it, until all combined and add salt to taste.

Valya this looks like my kind of salad! Fresh and crunchy! I think a squeeze of lemon would go well in here too. Will definitely add to the menu for this week! Thank you!
That is a great idea. I’ll give it a try and see what my family thinks. Thanks Irina 🙂
Dear Valechka, can this salad be made a day ahead? Or will it go soggy? /for guests/ . I like making everything ahead of time before the day when guests arrive… By the way HUGE thank you for posting amazing recipes! Y BAC zolotiye ruchki!
Thank you so much for kind words! I’m the same way. I like to make as much things ahead as I can. We get visitors pretty often, so I know what you mean. What I do is shred cabbage, place into a glass bowl and cover with plastic food wrap. Place into the fridge. Slice your chives, cucumber, bologna place in different bowls and cover the same way. Drain and rinse corn and do the same. Then when guests are over toss everything into a large bowl, mix it add salt and pepper and serve right away. Try not to mash the ingredients together, rather carefully mix it, that will prevent vegetables from juicing and your salad will not be soggy. I hope that helps. 🙂
Valechka, you are an angel- thank you for your reply! By the way, are you a born again Christian? There is a very sweet way about you?
I am. Thanks for your kind words 🙂
