Healthy Berry Spinach Smoothie in a Jar

Healthy Berry Spinach Smoothie in a Jar

First, may I just say that smoothies are a genius invention! Simply a deal of a meal! Making a smoothie for breakfast or lunch when in a hurry or on the go is an incredible life saver. Not only are they very nutritious but very tasty, and keep you full for hours. If you had or will have, a big meal a smoothie is a perfect meal replacement for another meal in the day.

I like making smoothies in a jar so I may enjoy it right away without dirtying more dishes to wash after transferring the smoothie into a glass. Also, I never liked washing that heavy blender container; they’re a bit of a hassle, don’t you think? By the time it’s clean, you’ve talked yourself out of making the next smoothie. Has anyone else felt that way? I find it so much easier just to use a jar that also substitutes a water glass. Plus, they’re cute!

The one thing you will need to be sure of is to use a jar with the same neck size as the glass container for a proper fit. You’ll want to remove the blender gasket from the blender container and fasten it on the jar. It should fit most blenders. Summer is around the corner and so is the kids’ big break. Use your garden fruits and vegetables for fantastic and healthy drinks. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

3 oz. (85 g) – fresh Strawberries
3 oz. (85 g) – fresh Raspberries
3 oz. (85 g) – fresh Blueberries
3 oz. (85 g) – Organic Spinach

1 (32 oz. – quart or 946 ml) – glass jar with same size neck as the blender container
Gasket from a blender
Glass straw

Instructions:

1.  Measure out all the ingredients.

2. Rinse spinach and berries and place them into a strainer for excess water to drain. Place spinach into the jar, then add blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries on top of the spinach. Then add yogurt, almond milk, and ice (optional). I’ve noticed it blends best when ingredients placed in this order. Screw the gasket onto the neck of the jar tightly. Blend for 1 minute. Spinach may get stuck at the top of the jar. Remove the jar from the blender, unscrew the gasket and mix unblended spinach into the smoothie with a spoon. Screw the gasket back onto the jar and blend for 2 more minutes.

3. Unscrew the gasket from the jar, insert a straw and serve. This smoothie has so much spinach it’s like having a huge bowl of salad in much less time. Enjoy!

I really wanted to post this quick, creamy, and delicious Instant Pot version of it before Thanksgiving to save you time in the upcoming holiday cooking! You know what is the most important thing I absolutely love about making mashed potatoes in the Instant Pot?
