Blueberry Coulis Recipe Tips
- Choose ripe and fresh blueberries: Opt for plump, juicy blueberries that are at the peak of ripeness. This ensures a more flavorful and vibrant coulis.
- Adjust sweetness to taste: The amount of sugar mentioned in the recipe is a general guideline. Feel free to adjust the amount according to your preference and the sweetness of the blueberries.
- Strain for a smooth texture: Straining the coulis after blending helps remove any seeds or skin, resulting in a smoother and more refined texture. Use a fine-mesh sieve or a cheesecloth to strain the mixture and discard any solids.

- Mixed berry coulis: Expand the flavor profile by incorporating other berries into the coulis. Consider combining blueberries with raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries to create a mixed berry coulis that showcases a medley of flavors.

I put I on pancakes
That sounds like a great combination! Add a little bit of whipped heavy cream and that completes the meat! 😉
Angela, I have made a similar sauce to mix into a blueberry no churn ice cream. If you put blops of the sauce after it is mostly cooled on the ice cream mixture, then just cut through them with a table knife, it gives a nice swirled effect. Cutting through more than once, or using side of knife rather than edge gives a more mixed in effect, but still has some white and some blue berry lines. Go for it- I am sure you will find it tastes awesome- mine is very popular everywhere it goes.since a friend told me how she made it.
I am thinking of making this to swirl into my vanilla ice cream base. I don’t want it to blend fully though. If I fold it in after the ice cream is churned, will that achieve the result I am looking for?
If you do minimal mixing after the ice cream is churned then it should not blend. But I have not tried it so please do come back and let me know the results.
