Key Ingredients
All you need are some simple, pantry staple ingredients to make the tastiest no bake peanut butter bars you’ve ever had! Let’s look at each of them in more detail:
For the Peanut Butter Layer:
- Unsalted butter: We’ll need some butter to add a rich taste to our peanut butter bars. Be sure to use unsalted butter so we can control the amount of salt we’re adding.
- Biscoff cookies: Biscoff cookies make a great crust for these bars. They have cinnamon, ginger, and caramel flavors with a crispy and crunchy texture! This makes them work perfectly with the peanut butter flavor.
- Maple syrup: Next we’re going to use maple syrup for this recipe. It helps bind the ingredients together and adds a sweet, earthy flavor. Plus, this means we don’t have to add any sugar to our peanut butter bars like granulated or powdered sugar.
- Vanilla extract: A little pure vanilla extract will really complement the depth of flavor in our peanut butter bars. It has a sweet taste and floral scent that really brings the recipe together.
- Crunchy peanut: You can use any crunch peanut butter you like! Some great brands that I recommend you try include Skippy or Jif crunchy peanut butter for these peanut butter chocolate bars. Alternatively, you can use creamy peanut butter if you don’t like nuts in the bars.
- Salt: The last ingredient we need for the peanut butter layer is a pinch of salt. It will help balance the sweetness and bring out the flavor of the other ingredients.

For the Chocolate Layer:
- Chocolate bar: To make the base of the chocolate layer, we’ll need a 7-ounce milk chocolate bar. You can use other kinds of chocolate if you prefer, but I like milk chocolate the best. The slight, creamy chocolate flavor works beautifully with the peanut butter.
- Peanut butter: We’re going to use some more peanut butter in the chocolate layer as well. Again, use either crunchy or creamy peanut butter depending on your preference. It gives the no bake bars an extra, delicious dose of peanut butter!
- Freshly brewed espresso: This is my secret ingredient for the tastiest no bake peanut butter bars! Mixing espresso with chocolate makes it taste even better since it has a strong and bold flavor that pairs really well with all the other ingredients. Plus, it balances out the chocolate flavors to really make these the best tastiest no bake bars ever!

Recipe Tips
- Don’t burn the chocolate: Be sure to keep a close eye on the chocolate while melting it, especially if using a microwave. Burning the chocolate will make the entire dessert taste bitter.
- Let it chill: Let the layers chill in the fridge for the specified times before working with them or serving them. This lets the layers set and firm up properly.
- Use a spatula: While spreading the layers, use a rubber spatula. This will help ensure everything is spread evenly and smoothly without any bumps.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! Crunchy peanut butter adds extra texture and a bit of nutty bite. Just know that it may make the bars slightly more crumbly, especially when sliced. If that happens, you can increase the amount of butter by a tablespoon or two to help bind the mixture better.
It can be made nut-free! Substitute peanut butter with:
Sunflower seed butter (SunButter)
Soy nut butter
Cookie butter (for a dessert-focused twist)
They can be! Just use gluten-free graham crackers or cookies for the base. Double check all ingredient labels to be sure.
