What Makes This No Bake Peanut Butter Bars Recipe Special?

These No bake Peanut Butter bars are absolutely delicious, and my recipe will give you the tastiest ones you've ever tried. Here are some of the reasons why this recipe is extra special:

No baking required: One of the best parts about this recipe is that it doesn't require any baking. Just a short prep time and you'll be enjoying a decadent treat in no time!

Classic flavor: These no bake peanut butter bars are absolutely delicious. They combine the smooth, creamy taste of peanut butter with rich chocolate for an amazing combination.

Tastier than others: My recipe includes some delicious and easy twists that will take your no bake peanut butter bars to the next level! For example, my recipe includes adding freshly brewed espresso to the chocolate topping which not only brings out the flavor of the peanut butter layer but also makes them extra tasty!

Customizable: Once you learn how to make these bars, they're highly customizable! There are many great additions and substitutions, we'll go over a few at the end of the recipe.

What You Need to Make No Bake Peanut Butter Bars at Home

All you need are some simple, pantry staple ingredients to make the tastiest no bake peanut butter bars you've ever had! Let's look at each of them in more detail:

    For the Peanut Butter Layer:

    • Unsalted butter: We'll need some butter to add a rich taste to our peanut butter bars. Be sure to use unsalted butter so we can control the amount of salt we're adding.
    • Biscoff cookies: Biscoff cookies make a great crust for these bars. They have cinnamon, ginger, and caramel flavors with a crispy and crunchy texture! This makes them work perfectly with the peanut butter flavor.
    • Maple syrup: Next we're going to use maple syrup for this recipe. It helps bind the ingredients together and adds a sweet, earthy flavor. Plus, this means we don't have to add any sugar to our peanut butter bars like granulated or powdered sugar.
    • Vanilla extract: A little pure vanilla extract will really complement the depth of flavor in our peanut butter bars. It has a sweet taste and floral scent that really brings the recipe together.
    • Crunchy peanut: You can use any crunch peanut butter you like! Some great brands that I recommend you try include Skippy or Jif crunchy peanut butter for these peanut butter chocolate bars. Alternatively, you can use creamy peanut butter if you don’t like nuts in the bars.
    • Salt: The last ingredient we need for the peanut butter layer is a pinch of salt. It will help balance the sweetness and bring out the flavor of the other ingredients.
All you need are some simple, pantry staple ingredients to make the tastiest no bake peanut butter bars you've ever had!

    For the Chocolate Layer:

    • Chocolate bar: To make the base of the chocolate layer, we'll need a 7-ounce milk chocolate bar. You can use other kinds of chocolate if you prefer, but I like milk chocolate the best. The slight, creamy chocolate flavor works beautifully with the peanut butter.
    • Peanut butter: We're going to use some more peanut butter in the chocolate layer as well. Again, use either crunchy or creamy peanut butter depending on your preference. It gives the no bake bars an extra, delicious dose of peanut butter!
    • Freshly brewed espresso: This is my secret ingredient for the tastiest no bake peanut butter bars! Mixing espresso with chocolate makes it taste even better since it has a strong and bold flavor that pairs really well with all the other ingredients. Plus, it balances out the chocolate flavors to really make these the best tastiest no bake bars ever!

How to Make No Bake Peanut Butter Bars (Step-by-Step)

Making these no bake peanut butter bars is easier than you think! Here's what you need to do to make them step by step:

How to Make the Peanut Butter Layer

Let's start by making the peanut butter layer first. To do this, line a small 8-inch x 8-inch pan with parchment paper and set it aside.

Next, crush the Biscoff cookies or cookies of your choice and set them aside.

    Melt butter, and set aside.

Now add all ingredients into a medium bowl: crushed cookies, peanut butter, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, then stir everything just until it's combined.

Add all the ingredients into a bowl and mix to combine.

Next, press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.

Let the baking dish chill in the fridge for an hour to firm.

Next, press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.

How to Make the Chocolate Layer

Time to prep our chocolate layer before assembling it! To do this, break or cut the chocolate bar into small chunks.

Next, add freshly brewed espresso and peanut butter into a bowl with the chocolate chunks. Place the bowl into a double boiler (my preference) or melt it in the microwave. Stir occasionally until it's all well combined.

If you're using a microwave, heat for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each interval.

Add all the ingredients into a bowl. Place the bowl into a double boiler or melt it in the microwave. Stir occasionally until it's all well combined.

How to Assemble No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

Let's combine the layers for the tastiest no bake peanut butter bars!

Tips for Making the Best No Bake Peanut Butter Bars Ever

Don't burn the chocolate: Be sure to keep a close eye on the chocolate while melting it, especially if using a microwave. Burning the chocolate will make the entire dessert taste bitter.

Let it chill: Let the layers chill in the fridge for the specified times before working with them or serving them. This lets the layers set and firm up properly.

Use a spatula: While spreading the layers, use a rubber spatula. This will help ensure everything is spread evenly and smoothly without any bumps.

Recipe Variation Ideas for No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

For those looking to switch up their no bake peanut butter bar recipe, here are some delicious variation ideas you can try to customize your bars:

Different cookies: Substituting the Biscoff cookies can completely change the taste of this recipe. Try graham crackers or vanilla wafers instead.

Nuts toppings: If you like extra nutty desserts, sprinkle some nuts over the top of the bars. Almond or chopped peanuts are good choices.

Candy toppings: You can even add your favorite peanut butter candy on top for an extra special treat. Considered sprinkling some Reese's peanut butter cups on top!

Extra chocolate: For an extra decedent dessert, add some more chocolate. Sprinkle some milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips, or drizzle white chocolate on top of the bars. You can also use crushed Reese's peanut butter cups.

How to Store Leftover No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

Store leftover no bake peanut butter bars in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. If you want to store them for longer, keep them in the freezer for up to 3 months. Allow them to thaw overnight in the fridge before enjoying your delicious no bake bars!
