These pizza rolls are surprisingly super simple to put together. If you've made cinnamon rolls before, it's basically the same process.
Split all the dough in half for easier rolling. Roll out the first piece of the dough into a rectangle roughly about ¼ inch in thickness.
Spread out homemade pizza sauce evenly throughout the dough. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese, top the cheese with turkey pepperoni and sprinkle additional cheese over the pepperoni (this way the rolls will stick better and hold their shape).
Note: Reserve one cup of grated mozzarella cheese to sprinkle over top of the pizza rolls after they are baked.
Start rolling the dough from one end into a tight log. Seal the end by pinching the dough together.
Using a super sharp knife slice the pizza dough log into equal rolls, placing them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
This step is optional but to me, it makes a huge difference in taste. Melt 2 oz. of butter and squeeze garlic juice from one large garlic clove into the hot butter. Then brush each roll with garlic butter.
Let the rolls rise for 30 minutes before baking. 15 minutes into the rising time you may start preheating your oven to 350 F (180 C).
How Long to Bake Pepperoni Pizza Rolls
If you have leftover garlic butter, brush it once more before placing the rolls into the oven.
Bake pizza rolls in preheated oven to 350 F (180 C) for 25 - 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Remove baked pizza rolls from the oven and sprinkle the earlier reserved cup of grated mozzarella cheese and freshly chopped parsley.
Cool the rolls for 10 to 15 minutes before serving them with some extra pizza dipping sauce.
