Ingredients
For the Apple Snack
½cup water
½freshly juiced lemon
4large apples
½cuppeanut butter or nut butter
2cupsmaple granola or granola of your choice
Chocolate chip, pomegranate seeds, or nuts and seeds
Instructions
Rinse and dry your apples before you begin. Once they're clean, use a knife to slice apples into ⅜ inch thick pieces. To prevent apple slices from browning soak them in a lemon syrup for a few minutes. To make lemon syrup simply combine water and freshly squeezed lemon juice in a bowl. Then pat dry apple slices using a paper towel and lay them out on a serving platter.
Spread peanut butter over each apple slice. This will act as a delicious glue for your toppings.
Sprinkle maple granola over the peanut butter to add a crunchy texture. For an extra burst of flavor and a touch of sweetness, add some chocolate chips or pomegranate seeds.
Remember, this recipe is flexible. You can customize your apple snacks with any toppings you like. Dark or milk chocolate chips, dried cranberries, white or brown raisins, and various kinds of nuts all work well. Enjoy your delicious apple snacks!
