Ingredients

For the Sauce – ▢2 cups – water – ▢3 tbsp. – better than bullion Beef paste – ▢1 cup – low sodium soy sauce – ▢¼ cup – sesame oil – ▢2 tbsp. – minced garlic – ▢1 tbsp. – minced ginger – ▢½ tsp. – red pepper flakes – ▢½ cup – brown sugar For the Beef – ▢2 tbsp. – olive oil – ▢3 – 4 lbs. – Flank sliced For the Cornstarch Slurry – ▢¼ cup – water – ▢3 tbsp. - potato (or corn starch) – ▢1 - 2 lbs. – broccoli florets

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix water, bullion paste, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic and ginger, red pepper flakes, and brown sugar to create the sauce. Set it aside.

Step 2

Slice the flank steak across the grain for tenderness. Preheat your Instant Pot using the sauté function. Brown small batches of meat on both sides, avoiding overcrowding. Return all the meat to the Instant Pot.

Step 3

Pour the prepared sauce over the meat, ensuring even coating. Close the Instant Pot lid and cook on High Pressure for 10 minutes. Release pressure following the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 4

Mix ¼ cup of water with 3 tablespoons of potato or cornstarch to create a starch mixture. Add it to the cooked meat, stirring to combine. Use the sauté function to bring the mixture to a boil, thickening the sauce.

Step 5

Stir in the broccoli florets and close the Instant Pot lid. Let it rest for 10 minutes to steam the broccoli. Serve your beef and broccoli over rice, garnishing with sesame seeds for extra flavor and presentation. Enjoy!
