How to Make Sauerkraut at Home

Prep Time: 30 mins

Cook Time: 6 d

– 2 heads – medium size cabbage – ▢2 large – carrots – ▢¼ cup – sea salt

Step 1

Peel and wash green cabbage and carrots. Cut the cabbage in half and shred it thinly. Similarly, shred the carrots. Place them in a large bowl.

Step 2

Sprinkle sea salt over the cabbage and carrots. Mix and massage them until they release their juices. Pack the mixture tightly into a jar or crock with a tight-sealing lid. Allow it to ferment at room temperature for about 24 hours. Then, transfer it to the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Enjoy your sauerkraut, and its flavor will continue to develop over time.
