Classic Ukrainian Paska Easter Bread

Paska is a traditional Easter bread, and my recipe will give you adorable cupcake-sized versions of them that are total crowd-pleasers and perfect for kids!

Ingredients

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy. Add sugar, salt, eggs, melted butter, and flour to the yeast mixture, and mix until it forms a smooth dough.

Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes, or until it becomes elastic and smooth. Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 24 equal portions. Shape each dough portion into a small ball and place it into a greased muffin tin.

Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise again in a warm place for about 30-40 minutes, or until it doubles in size. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Brush the top of the dough with a beaten egg.

Bake the mini paska in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.
