Ingredients

– ½ cup - water – ▢6 tbsp. - brown sugar – ▢2 tbsp. - cornstarch – ▢½ tsp. - ground fresh ginger – ▢½ tsp. - ground or minced garlic clove – ▢½ cup - reduced sodium soy sauce – ▢¼ cup - organic apple cider vinegar – ▢2 tbsp. - raw honey

Step 1

 In a small mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, and garlic powder.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water until the cornstarch is completely dissolved.

Step 3

Heat a small saucepan over medium heat and add the soy sauce mixture. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Step 4

Slowly pour the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan while whisking continuously. Continue cooking the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens to a syrupy consistency.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the teriyaki glaze cool for a few minutes.

Use the glaze immediately or transfer it to a glass jar or container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
