A simply prepared recipe is usually the one that turns out to be the best-tasting and most loved go-to dishes. This classic Buttered Golden Potatoes with Dill is one of those for us. Filling potato chunks coated with savory butter, sprinkled with fresh garden-grown dill to make such a simple yet tasty and comforting dish.
Peel, rinse, and cut potatoes into approximately one square inch (2.5 cm) pieces. Place all cut potatoes into a medium (or 6 quarts) pot. Fill the pot with water add salt and bring to a boil.
As soon as potatoes start to boil, reduce the heat to med/high and let it gently boil for 15 – 20 minutes, or until tender and the knife pierce through easily. Drain the potatoes and scatter cubed butter over the top of cooked potato.
As soon as the butter melts over the hot potato cubes, transfer the potato, by gently letting them fall over and into a large serving bowl. During this transfer, the rest potato chunks should nicely coat over, without any shaking the butter and potato in the pot (which disfigures the beautifully cooked chunks). Sprinkle potato with chopped dill.
Serve the potato dish right away and enjoy along with your favorite salad and meat.
