– 3 cups – organic low-fat milk (you may use whole milk as well)– ⅓ cup – heavy whipping cream– ¼ cup – organic maple syrup (or to taste)– ¼ cup – cocoa powder– 1 oz – organic dark chocolate (I used a piece of a chocolate bar)– Pinch of sea salt
Start by pouring milk into a medium saucepan at medium heat and bring it to a boil. Then reduce to medium-low heat and add heavy cream and maple syrup. Stir well.
Bring it to a boil stirring constantly to make sure the ingredients don’t settle at the bottom and burn. As soon as it begins to bubble, remove the mixture from the heat.
Pour into mugs and top it off with some mini marshmallows and serve right away. If you’re serving this delicious homemade hot chocolate to kids, allow it to cool down a little before serving.
