We have been enjoying plenty of this scrumptious Alfredo sauce in various ways at home since (especially with breadsticks), without handing over our wallets for it. The sauce is very rich, creamy, and full of that Alfredo flavor. If you are an Alfredo fan, you should definitely be making this at home. It is so rich and tasty, you're gonna plotz! Serve warm for dipping or slather over pasta.
Recipe type: Sauce
Serves: 2.5 cups
  • 2 oz. (57 g) – unsalted butter
  • 2 oz. (57 g) – cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 2 cups (475 ml) – heavy cream
  • 1 - garlic clove (1/2 tsp. or 2.5 ml pressed)
  • ¼ tsp. (1.25 ml) – salt
  • ⅛ – ground black pepper
  • ½ cup (50 g) – freshly shredded Romano cheese
  • 1 ½ cups (150 g) – freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  1. Prepare and measure out all ingredients. (Shred cheese, press garlic, etc.) Melt butter in small sauce pan, add softened cream cheese. (If the cream cheese is not soft the sauce will turn out clumpy.) Heat for a minute so it all thins. Then add heavy cream and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Reduce the heat and add pressed garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir it in well and let it simmer for a couple minutes.
  3. Add and mix in Romano and Parmesan cheese. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Then let it simmer for another minute. Remove from heat. Let it cool to warm and serve with bread sticks or pour it over cooked pasta.
